Human civilization has evolved over the ages and has acquired its present shape with the learning of knowledge spread of cultural values and motivated efforts for self-expression together with community progress. Education with its conventional and non-conventional forms has been contributing to the development of human resources. It is not only acting as a medium for earning a livelihood but also focusing on all round developments of human beings thus making them aware of the art of living. The female section of society is the first teacher of a child who can very well contribute to achieving the goals of education. Thus S.S.D.P.C. Girls P.G. College, Roorkee being aware of the above signs of girls' education is dedicated to the higher education of girls with faculty of arts with subjects Hindi, English, Political Science, Sanskrit, Sociology, Economics, Drawing & Painting and Postgraduate course in Political science and Drawing & Painting. The latest developments in the higher education scenario of the country were realized from time to time and hence undergraduate courses in the faculty of science are also being offered as BSc (Bio group), BSc (Maths group), and BSc (Computer group). College is making all efforts to nurture the academic talent of students in a disciplined environment the institution. Our well-equipped laboratories, library with a collection of the latest books and periodicals together with internet facility, and NSS units are dedicated to the all-round development of students.
